Monday night saw the shareholders of the club meet to agree upon the takeover of the club by members from over 70 countries worldwide. With membership nearing 30,000 people this makes the club the first website based community to do anything like this.

Launched in April 2007 MyFootballClub have bought a 75% stake in the club, the money for the takeover coming from the £1m raised by the community so far.

With a trip to Wembley just over the horizon, could this be the icing on the cake for the members, in their first year as co-owners?
